Games Designed in Aotearoa New Zealand
My name is Kris Sian. I’m a queer, trans, game development student in my second year at University of Canterbury. This portfolio showcases my project work as I learn to create my own games!
Virtual Reality
Projects created in Unity for PROD223 Immersive Game Design, using OpenXR and a variety of educational assets.
FloodChamber
Created in Unity 2D using URP, this 2D was a group project that I led from pitch to completion for PROD121 The Game Development Process. My main contributions were in programming and level design, with some generalisation across the project.
Caldera
Created in Bad Kobold for PROD226 Narrative Design for Interactive Media, this was our class project to create a story-driven game using multiple dialogue options and low-fi text glyph and tile graphics, with the goal of presenting a coherent world with characters, questlines, and events triggered through player choice.
I wrote two quests: one where the player investigates the rumour of wealthy Industrialists purchasing Calderan land, and another where the player voyages onto the sea in search of an elusive Sea Beast.
Other Projects
